Sweden came away with a narrow win over a visibly distraught Switzerland side which looked to make it four times to land in the last eight after 1934, 1938, 1954. Sweden has had a good run without their talisman and all-time leading top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They won their opening match against South Korea, fell in the last second of the game to a poor German side then stunned the footballing world as they steam-rolled Mexico 3-0 in their final group game to cement their place at the top of a tricky group.
The match was not an easy one to call as it was both fast and furious with chances at both. It looked like we were gonna have a third round of sixteen matches decided beyond the 90-minute mark but Forsberg had other ideas.
